User selects a Tax Code ? User selects the correct Account Code ?
We don't think so. Typically our clients have a set of several Tax Codes, some of which are quite obscure. Asking the user to pick the right one is asking for trouble. We don't think so. To ask the average employee to select the correct option for deductibility or entertainment usually means confused calls to your Finance Department, or worse, a guess.
GST Wizard selects the Tax Code ? FBT Wizard determines the FBT treatment ?
This works well, no matter how complex your situation is. iCMS can take many elements into account to select the correct Tax Code, like overseas expenses, gross amount under/over AUD$82.50 (since July 2007), type of documentation retained, FBT implications, capital purchases, expenses that are themselves taxes... That's more like it. The FBT wizard will prompt the user to walk through a simple set of questions that they CAN answer, and will perform the necessary coding for them.
Are you sure ? How complex is the wizard ?
The GST wizard can even double-check when it detects out-of-policy behaviour. For example, an Australian expense over $82.50 (since July 2007) where GST is included but the user has stated a Tax Invoice was not obtained. "Please confirm, as this is against Company Policy". As simple or as sophisticated as you like - you decide. Typically the first page covers common scenarios, while subsequent screens delve into transactions involving multiple people. In certain circumstances the wizard can even prompt for extra codes, like an Employee Number.
